Economies of Effort: 1.2

Economies of Effort: 1.2 – In preparation for the public release of the performance, I headed down to Motion Pacific to create a second set of photographs to capture the spirit of the live performance planed to open.  These images would be available for press and publicity, and with any luck would find themselves into the SF Weekly or Chronicle as had images from out first photoshoot.

Similar to my previous work in December for the same project, I was able to work with choreographer Cid Pearlman and her amazing cast of dancers, to explore moments within the piece that could project the spirit of the piece in a single arrangement.  As the dancers bring out and set up all the props and lights used in the production, the themes of creation and construction weave through the performance just as the dancers do.

In the end, I’m really happy with the look and feel of the images we created.  The interaction of dancers and stage elements is well represented, as is the unique character of the piece in the arrangements we found within it.
